experiences with dumb people in IB?

currently trying to break into IB and enjoy hearing the experiences/stories of other people. was curious about any stories or experiences with people who genuinely just did not belong in IB, whether it be due to lack of intelligence or just general incompetence. maybe they got in because of a family connection, idk.

how did you handle it? how did they do over time

when i was still in ib i sometimes had to work with the middle market team at bank of america. they probably have the largest % of unqualified and incompetent bankers on the street of any group. yes, including UBS too. u may be asking why. the reason is the wise guys at bank of america decided to put all the bottom bucket performers from their other groups into this group and hire senior bankers who had no ib experience. to answer your question, i handled it by not involving them in part of the actual work process so they could not mess it up and by ignoring emails from any those bankers.
