Family office direct investment

 Hi all,

We are a family office with assets over  750 million dollars that has predominantly invested indirectly. However, we are now interested in exploring direct investments in the range of 25 to 75 million dollars.

Could someone please provide a simplified breakdown of the process for going about making such investments, including information on basic banks, common deal structures and debt levels?

Thank you in advance for your assistance!

I don’t want to be that guy, but if you have to ask…

Realistically, you’d need to build out a team that can originate and underwrite. You might also have to get operators like an executive in residence. What’s your special sauce? Does the family “know” a vertical incredibly well and is super connected? Do they want to double down on a space they presumably are overindexed to? What differentiates you from the other generic Tree Name Capitals in the middle market?
