Farewell Letter. Yay or Nay?
I plan on leaving my bank for a competitor on the last Friday of this month, and I’m wondering how standard it is to write a goodbye email on the last day? I’m thinking of avoiding this because I’d rather tell 3-5 people at work and be done. Will I burn bridges if I ghost most of my co-workers?
Personally, I'd suggest a farewell note to a broader group, but don't feel compelled to e-mail everyone you've ever worked with. In the end it's a small industry, and you never know when you'll cross paths with someone again. Sending a note of gratitude for time / work done together sends you off in a positive light (despite leaving for a rival).
Just send it, 3 sentences and you're done. Give people your personal email and thank everyone.

Did you send one and add all of them as the recipient or did you send a personal one to each person?
