Fee/commision/bonus Splits
Call them what you want... What I'd love to know is on average how (more at smaller banks where there is more line of sight from fee in to company to fee in pocket) do bonus or fee money get spread out between levels?
Say you do some banking for a company. Advisory or a valuation and vending of an asset for them, maybe a M&A deal. What kind of cut is the MD going to get? The VP on the deal, director, associate etc?
I'm asking partially out of interest but also seeing if what a guy I know is telling the truth. He's at a small shop (the CEO is also the lead banker) and he's telling me that the house gets 50% and the rest is dolled out. Seems pretty rich (unless the CEO is taking most of it) to me.
