Fifth Third IBD vs Cain Brothers Analyst FT

Weighing potential offer for Fifth Third Corporate Strategies (their new IBD) Analyst Charlotte vs a full time offer with Cain Brothers in non-NYC regional office. (Yes I know I should wait until I have both offers in hand, but just humor me anyways) If I am looking to make the jump from analyst to associate, break into MM PE, get into MBA business schools">M7, or possibly lateral to tier 2 BB which opportunity would give me the best options/experience. Also, seeing as 53's ibd is new I would greatly appreciate any insight on the group, culture, comp, deal flow....

You'll have an extremely difficult time going from Fifth-Third to PE and possibly even BB banking. I haven't heard of Cain Brothers, which is actually a good thing given that most people have heard of Fifth-Third and they're largely considered a retail bank with a commercial lending platform. 5/3 just has zero brand in banking and its not because they are just opening up shop, its because they are a retail bank and right or wrong, there is a very strong stigma associated with that on Wall Street.

Go with Cain Bros. They are a strong healthcare boutique and you will get good experience. If you are concerned about brand you could make a move thereafter. Much easier sell than 5/3.
