How hard is it to get a SA stint at MM banks like Fifth Third, Truist, and HL? Are they nearly as competitive as BB/EB’s? GPA requirement about the same? Internship experience?

Most threads I have seen have grouped Truist/HL in the same ballpark. Ik Fifth Third is below both

Truist is not even close to the same level as HL, especially its RX group. Anyone who says otherwise is either being disingenuous or works at Truist
Not as competitive as top BB/EB but offer solid experience for a SA internship.
Lol I used to think like this when I was prospect then figured that we are all fucking paid the same and I want the place with the least amount of work and pain and suffering. "B-but muh exit opps" ha so naive. World doesn't work like that anymore. You want money and freedom asap.

It is definitely a smaller bonus but not too far off. It begins to differ more as you get promoted.
Think others have it covered, HL is in a league above the other two. In general though you’ll probably want a 3.5+ and some kind of business internship sophomore summer to be competitive for any of them.
To echo the above, HL is above the others, particularly in tech, Rx and M&A generally (and I’m at a HL competitor)
