FIG Verticals --> PE

I'm very interested in moving on to PE after my 2 years in a BB IBD FIG analyst role where I'll starting soon.

Given that FIG groups work with various verticals, and assuming I'd be able to request specific work within one of those verticals, which one should I focus on if I'm interested in a non-FIG PE gig? I've heard that financial tech would be a good option in this case. I'd also like to know if that answer changes for a FIG-focused PE role, as I am not 100% decided yet. Is it better to get a holistic experience, or should I be targeting a smaller selection of the verticals? Why?

Thanks!

So in the FinTech and Asset Management Verticals the valuation closely resembles standard company valuation which makes for better PE exit pops?
