Final Stage Lateral Process - Requesting Bonus Documentation?

Hello,

This is my first time lateral to A2 level at another bank, but this is not the first time I moved to a different company. This is really odd for the bank to request documentation about my annual bonus. I received my bonus and I did have my documentation, but I am not sure why they requested this information.

I am thinking that I would respond to them as: since I am still employed at the current bank, I do not feel comfortable sending them this documentation but I am happy to provide a verbal number. I do not need to hide or lie about anything, but I need to secure my current job or secure my next job.

If you have come across this situation, please advise and I appreciate your inputs.

It's a weird ask but I'm not sure what you have to lose by giving it to them (unless you lied about your bonus in interviews).

When they asked about my bonus expectation at my current bank before the announcement (that conversation was 2 weeks before the bonus announcement at my bank), I said historically it has been 1x of base for top bucket and since I am a top bucket per my MD's annual review, so I expected to be compensated at that level – that was what I told them. Unfortunately, it is not 1.0x so I guess that is what they wanted to find out.

That is strange, also might be illegal I think. Fuck them it's none of their business.

Thank you Deter6895. Also, when I spoke to the MD, he mentioned about a course work I took at the master level on my transcript. I have never provided them my transcript without them requesting, is this also legal too? I am sure my transcript is not floating around.
