Assuming you're talking about the Finance Division in a company, finance analysts usually work under a CFO in the company. Its a back office spot where you manage the company's financial position.

As far as how much they make, salary is probably average for a back office spot (55-60k) with bonuses anywhere from 10-20k (salary numbers are verified bonus numbers are guesses).

Its always easier to become a finance analyst, regardless of market condition. It's a back office position.
