First day of IB Analyst job - how to start out strong?

I finally finished training and am starting on Monday, I really want to make a good first impression out of the gates and start as strong as possible. What should I be doing on my first day and in the first few weeks to get ahead of the curve? I want to learn as much as possible in this role, and want to make sure I maximize my time here and make the most of an opportunity I’ve worked towards for a very long time. In short - how do I not f this up?

  • Have a good attitude (always be friendly, humble and eager to learn)
  • Take detailed notes when given tasks / assignments (shows u care about capturing all the details and also prohibits u from having to go back for more details)
  • Gladly take on work no one else wants to do (ur goal should be to make others lives easier)
  • Never complain about seniors / coworkers (looks bad on u, even if they do it)
  • Be prompt (always be there when ur supposed to be), u don’t have to stay until everyone else leaves but as long as ur consistently there throughout the day it looks good on u
  • Do what you say you’ll do, when u say it (you’d be surprised how many ppl are like “I’ll get that to u by this afternoon” then send it two days later. Being able to keep to ur word is huge, underpromise and overdeliver)
