The first year post mba associates I know hardly have to do anything right now. The two banks they're at don't have the manpower to hold their hands and they don't really trust them with sensitive stuff. They usually like hop on calls and stuff but have pretty chill days, never heard any of them having to work into the early morning hours.
No idea why i got MS, but okay...
It's most likely a function of them not being able to do things quickly, especially since a lot in the remote environment is self-learning. What should take an hour might take 2 or more
Can confirm the same at BB; 7am calls then grinding till 2am 2 weeks straight.
It's COVID panic-induced pitching; add to the fact that after labor day all IB teams are slammed b/c MD's realize they only have a few months left to hit their revenue #'s. It'll get better after offices open up and clients are open to meeting in person to get M&A done. Until then it'll be hell...not only for 1st years.
