Flight and customs records as part of background check?

Is your flight history and/or customs history checked to determine employment verification as part of background checks by banks?

Say you are from Australia and you include your summer internship in Dubai. Is previous employer verification enough or will they check that you actually made the flight there and/or entered and left the country at around your specified employment dates?

I took an unconventional route to get to the city where I interned at and am worried that it may present a complication if they actually go that deep in the background check.

My money is on someone you knowing saying you worked somewhere that you didn't and now you're freaking out about all the ways you could get caught.

They don't subpoena flight records, for Christ sake.
