Follow Up with HR
Hi fellow monkeys:
I met with the HR from a boutique in February. I followed up at the beginning of March and she said that she didn't know whether they would be hiring until later in March, and that she would contact me once she knows.
I still haven't heard anything from her, and exams are starting in two weeks. Should I contact her? How should I word it?
Thanks
Most definitely reach out. I don't know what class you're in, but if you're trying to land an internship or FT offer for this year, you've really got to bug people just to the point before you come off as annoying. Emailing once every two weeks or so, just casually keeping in touch, is a good way to let them know that your'e serious about it and if something happens to open up and they need to quickly get 5 people to an interview, you'll be at the top of their mind.
Just say something along the lines of "I was just following up on our earlier conversation" and ask if anything is available, let them know of your continuing interest in case something opens up, and thank them for their time and consideration.
Thanks for the input. Should I also indicate the fact that I'd like to relocate? Or does it come across as desperate?
Just see what's available first.
