The safest option is black cap-toe oxfords. whatever brand you can afford. I have Carminas. Allen Edmonds are always a safe choice. Meermin makes decent ones. Beckett Simonon also.

Are dress shoes not an expectation for full time analysts? Visited several banks recently, and almost every analyst was wearing casual street shoes.
It's kind of been anything goes since coming back after covid - nice looking/professional sneakers are generally okay in many offices.
Wouldn't recommend an intern wears them, and incoming FTs should start with dress shoes and see what their group wears... but many FTs wear the lululemon ABC pants and a neutral sneaker every day
