For those who have completed an BB IB Summer internship, was it a 'surprise' whether you converted/failed to convert?
I'm currently interning in an American BB in London (it's BofA, not like it matters cause its anon). I've struggled with some minor anxiety throughout my life which has somewhat resurfaced ever since I started interning a few weeks ago. I would imagine that's somewhat natural given the calibre of some of the people interning here.
I'm really unsure about what to think about my performance so far. On one hand, I feel like my work quality has been good, and I've had basically only positive networking chats with individuals on my team (and I've spoken to a very large % of people on it so far). I like to think I've asked some good questions so far, which my development officer/line manager has praised me for as well.
All that being said, I'm still feel some existential dread that I will not convert which I attribute to uncertainty behind the quality of the other interns. I'm certain that each of us is competent, but ofc I'll never know how well liked I am relative to the other interns, how well received my questions are compared to theirs etc. It's honestly been quite crippling these last few weeks.
Long winded first world problems aside, I'd really like to know from your experience, as to whether your conversion/failure to convert ever came as a shock to you specifically.
