Lateraling as Analyst
Hey guys, as the title states have begun thinking about this since I started in July. I’m currently at a pretty low tier bank (Truist/CIBC/Scotiabank/SocGen) and have been aware that I’m not going to get great reps nor exits.
My questions are:
1) What is a reasonable time to start prepping / looking for other spots?
2) How hard is it to lateral to other banks given my situation?
3) Will not coming from a target school be a big obstacle even if I have a decent resume?
4) Would this even be worth it given my hours aren’t terrible and bonuses are decent?
In terms of goals I’d ideally like to see myself in a PE seat at some point, and I know ending up at an UMM/MF isn’t exactly possible given where I am now. Any other things I missed and input would be great to hear.
