Former Pre-med Student Looking to Break into Finance

Hey all,

Asking this for a friend:

A friend of mine who has been premed at a CUNY for almost his entire college career has decided he wants to break into finance. Double major in econ and biology, expected GPA > 3.5 (rising senior). Has work experience in sales, budgeting (managed a branch of a tutoring service). Now I know that investment banking is likely not feasible immediately after he graduates, but would like perspectives on potential career paths for him straight out of college.

Should he pursue a Masters in Finance? Should he maybe try to break into IB as a post-MBA associate? What are some potential career paths / anyone who's been in a similar position?
