I recently left my banking job where I (naturally) used a lot of Bloomberg / factset and am looking for free or relatively cheap alternatives that I can use at home. Do any such applications/websites exist?

You're not going to get anything that even scratches the surface of Bloomberg or FactSet's features for free/cheap. Next closest thing is probably Sentieo. Even that is probably several hundred $ / month. Silver lining: Because you'll be paying for it now, it's - I think - tax deductible.
Check out Money.net, price is very affordable ~$150 a month and you can get a one month free trial. Company was founded by the former head of commodities at Bloomberg Morgan Downy I want to say.
