Freshman Programs
Hi everyone current freshman here at a CUNY non target (not even baruch). I missed the app for the Goldman Sachs Possibilties Summit and Im really bummed out. Does anyone know about other programs to look out for? Already aware of BNY Freshman Jumpstart. Other then applying to these types of programs anything else I should be doing?-Already have a couple coffee chats under my belt
I would hold off on coffee chats until soph year. I ignore all freshman inbounds and it's a bit hardo honestly
Focus on smaller firms you could get into for an internship this summer. Most of them won't know what they're doing for intern spots until spring semester. You can look at where recent alum from your school did early internships and target those firms.
Not sure what CUNY you are at but if you could hop over to a stronger school for sophomore year that'd probably be your best shot.
Also this maybe a little silly but should I start studying the 400 questions now?
400 questions takes like 2 weeks to learn if you've taken accounting/finance classes or eill by soph year (recommend trying to get those by soph fall as they're helpful for recruiting). You can if you want to but you're early
Re: internships, probably won't be investment banks as a freshman. Anything in finance is great.
