Freshman summer internship fell through, don't know what to do

I'm a rising sophomore at a non-target. I had a LMM PE internship lined up for this summer where I would have gotten to work on live deals and some modeling, but it fell through, not sure what to do with myself now. I did a remote search fund internship during Spring semester (no live deals or modeling, but I did get to go through CIMs produced by a regional bank). I'm sure I'll need more experience for IB recruiting in the Spring, but I do not know where to go from here. I am currently applying to any search funds still looking for interns, but there aren't many at this point in the summer, and the internship timeline for those that are goes well into fall semester, so these are the options I'm seeing so far:

1) Another search fund from now to mid October, but this time I will push to gain modeling experience.

2) Cold email regional banks for a Fall/winter off cycle internship, but I'm worried having nothing this summer (since currently available internships for this summer overlap) would be a red flag for SA recruiting

3) Cold email regional banks for an internship from now to mid fall? Probably unlikely they will create an internship for me starting now, but is this worth a shot or should I focus on securing something off-cycle?

I appreciate any advice anyone can give me on my situation. Of course I am also networking and learning technical, perhaps I should take the summer to focus on that and work somewhere local part time for income. Before you ask, the PE firm decided not to take on an intern at the last minute, I would've been the only one. I reached out to them via email in May asking about an internship, they agreed to have me start in June but kept delaying me and ultimately said it wouldn't work out.
