Freshman Year Steps

As an incoming freshman at Vandy I’m wondering what my next steps should be. I’ll obviously look to join relevant clubs and organizations but should there be anything else I should do? I was thinking to try to intern remotely at a search fund or something like that. I know options are very limited as a freshman, so was wondering what some of you did or looking back on it wish you had. I also don’t know when networking begins for a sophomore year internship.

I’m trying to place myself in the best position for success, but don’t want to waste away my freshman year stressing about my future career (I will obviously go out, plan to rush, and have an actual social life). However, I do want to try to get a leg up as I know Vanderbilt is still a semi-target school especially in the Northeast (where I want to be). Any advice is much appreciated.
