From BB to Jefferies

Currently at a BB and looking to lateral, I’ve been invited to a process at Jefferies and since I’ve seen a massive hiring spree in Jefferies from BBs I am wondering what is Jefferies offering analysts to lateral? I’m currently at a top group in my bank and don’t see a massive incentive to lateral unless it puts me 1 year ahead of promotion. So would like to know what they are offering to people, especially from people who have done this move.

top 5 on street for fig in Europe .. no balance shit though so not lender to utilities companies or energy though

Jefferies whole model is to burn and churn analysts. Wouldn’t do it as an An. Only lateral at Asso or above.

Lateral at a level where you soon get clawback. Great advice mate.....

Please don't give advice if you're not qualified to do so.

Title is outdated, but I know a team of 5 - 10 that went there from a BB in the US. The appeal for the MDs / seniors was the all-cash bonus. The BB we were at has had poor stock performance in recent years and having all cash comp was a big draw. Jefferies also has a partnership of some type with SMBC, which gives them a larger BS presence than you would think. On the flip side, the junior bankers that went have said the culture has been pretty rough.

Seems like if you are a going to be a career banker and are more senior it can be attractive, but otherwise you’re better off with the branding of a BB. Not meant to be a dig at Jefferies it is a great shop with great bankers, but the culture is tough and the branding at most BBs is still better.
