Weird situation and could really use some help. I currently have a FT BB position but will have to delay a year due to a medical injury. Given that I like the firm and do not want them to think I'm choosing another offer, is there any way I can ask to serve as an SA first?

Be straight up with them. Say I really like you all, and I'm not choosing another firm but I cannot take the fall offer given the medical situation. I am willing to summer and earn another full time spot for the following year. I don't see why they'd say no... I went through a somewhat similar thing and the place I was at was cool about it.
Thanks dabears - what I'm worried about is if they've finished selecting SA spots and thus would find an additional SA to be problematic
