FX Analyst at a small firm, should I switch to Investment Summer Internship?
Hello,
Keep in mind this is all UK.
I hate long winded posts so the TLDR is:
- Doing placement year as an FX analyst at small international payments firm- 8 months in- very responsible- strong markets knowledge- client facing etc.
- Strong extra curricular- high up in student ran fund at university- Student representation etc.
- Two years of uni done- 9 months into placement
-Interview for summer investment internship (fund analyst it seems) at a 500 million AUM investment firm next week
What do I do, I want to go into a capital markets team or IBD once I graduate, do I take the investment job if I get it and leave the current role, or get the full 12 months and collect my bonuses?
Kind Regards
You get a bonus in your placement? Are you sure? That's very VERY rare if so.
But yes, the investment firm looks 10x better on your CV than the current role if targeting Cap Markets/IBD.
