Getting an interview - Summer vs FT (grades)
Hey all- just want to ask a very important question that has been bothering me.
So I am interning on the buy side (AM/HF) and want to do IB for full-time. When I applied for summer internship with a REALLY HIGH GPA from my previous university (which I graduated from), I barely got any interviews (networked as well). Now my grades at the new university are just below 80% and bankers say it's very hard to get FT offers with that mark. So I guess my question is - what the f**k is the criteria for screening? when I have grades, I barely get interviews, and when I don't, they say you need good grades? can someone shed light / advice me with this situation.
Was your university a target? Also, what experience did you have prior to recruiting?
