Getting better as an first year analyst
Not inexperienced but didn't touch finance since receiving the return offer last year. I feel slow and rusty on excel/ppt and feel bad for the associates waiting to check my work.
Does it get better? I feel less attentive to detail as well, which is pretty embarrassing to have mistakes pointed out.
I'm not in M&A, but I've been less dialed starting up as well.
It sounds like you care about your work product so my advice would be to try to spend a little extra time reviewing your own work (printing decks, extra check cells, etc.). I’m sure you’ll get better with time - don’t beat yourself up too much
