Getting in IB with F1/H1 Visa
Does having an F1 (for summer internships) or H1 (for full time) visa make it harder to get in IB (besides the actual difficulty of getting the visa)? Do banks officially/unofficially discriminate to this group? Thank you
This is also something I've been wanting to know.
Also, I'm Canadian and want to know if that's any easier (than, say, F1/H1 from India/Korea/China/etc...).
They didn't use to ever before. and they didn't do it this year. but they had to go through a lot of crap to get us internationals in. many had to be placed in london and other areas......so i hear from next year they might discriminate. its hearsay, but it comes from a pretty high up source in a BB. I hope for your sake that this isn't the case. Otherwise IB will loose some of its lusture. Heck we have ppl from Kazakhstan in our analyst class. EES NIIIICE!
Haha that's great. I have a Kazakh friend who tells me stories of going hunting with his village. Talks like Borat too.
every U.S. firm (finance or non-finance) has always unofficially and/or officially discriminated against foreigners in making hiring decisions.
brisbane, this usually doesn't apply to canadians since they obtain a separate visa which pretty much guarantees work authorization.
