Getting Laid in IB?
Fellas how’s the dating situation been? I don’t have enough time to go on dates and when I hit the bars it seems like women don’t actually care that I work in IBD.

Literally nobody gives a fuck you work in IB other than douchey finance bros; mentioning your job might be the reason women aren't giving you attention lmao
Before I got into IB, I remember seeing 3 young guys in their early 20s also (probably analysts) at Mr Purple in NY staring at their phones sitting by the pool with a bottle wearing vests and deal sleds and not talking to any women (or even anyone). Don't be those guys. Be the guy by the bar with just a regular beer that is there in regular clothes and talks to everyone. I went out alone all the time, and had a good night (sometimes took someone home).
Even if its a group of dudes - 90% of the time, most people will hear you out vs just shut you out. Just say, "hey where you guys all coming from?" This opens up to a variety of answers. Some are visiting from out of town, some are coming back from a sports game, some just left another bar, or some are coworkers. Listen and ask questions.
Women pick up on the energy if you're a friendly and sociable guy that people are talking to, and the bonus is you sort of practice "cold-approaching" strangers in general.
Women analyze the room and will see you talking to various groups of people - which confirms you as "not weird" in their brain. Soon 1 or 2 lock eyes with you - which is your queue to just walk over and be chill about it. Don't use some corny 1-liner, just literally talk about anything else and only bring up work if someone asks.
If you aren't able to connect with anyone anyone at a bar, just write it off as not a good vibe there and just leave and go to another bar and rinse/repeat. Nobody will remember you unless you have bring up extremely polarizing opinions.
Bro knows ball
this is somewhat misleading
personally know people including myself who have scored at bars/clubs by mentioning my firm name (hint: its prestigious af, think GS/JPM/Citi)

Wow! You work at JP Morgan?! Take me home with you now!!!
You sound lame plz stop
i also agree i just hide the fact that im a bank teller.
tip for SF just say you work at a startup and not in finance works better. Or openai/anthropic.
You can literally work sales (GTM) and it works
Congrats on citi
Congrats on Citi
Just gift expensive wine bottles to your juniors like some MDs do and you are in. Next thing is they are drunk at a social event, they will let you take home.
I started to realize that these young girls post grad (22-24) dont actually really care that much about your job title, but more of how fun and cool of a guy you r (obviously your physical attraction too)
25W here and can confirm. When I was doing my masters (22-24), I didn’t care if the person I was seeing was a software engineer or a banker. While the work they do added some spice to our conversations, it was wasn’t the driver of keeping the relationship alive.
get in kitchen
Just match with them on hinge and go on a date with them when you find time (best way to plan). Otherwise just go to a bar and chat up a pretty girl you see. It’s that simple.
(Hint: if you want hot girls when you’re young you have to focus on being a magnetic person, the hot girls can date someone 1000x richer than you if they wanted to, I guarantee. Your 300k totalcomp is not a flex)
Lol, I tend to have the opposite experience. For the record, London (UK), fairly attractive guy, AN2 at EB. Most common areas I go for a night out will be around LPOOL street, Soho, and Camden. Assuming the bird isn't a tool, they normally make the assumption straight off that I'm a smart / well-off guy based off my job. Often leads to a lot of questions aswell which can either annoy/entertain you on a drink fueled night.
Would defo just stick to dating apps though
Has anyone used Raya in NYC?
nobody cares get back to work or we will all get laid… off
Being married works for the BYU guys lol
True. My analyst is married and I'm not.
