Getting off hold
I am from a non-target and I was just placed on hold for a BB SA role this summer. I was basically told it's a numbers game at this point, but she said def. a high chance of it becoming an offer, but just to sit tight. My question is would an extra push from an internal employee, but from a different department (S&T) help me out at all or should I not even bring it up to them and just wait. Any ideas would be appreciated.
A person from a different department will have no push nor will a person within the department unless he/she is extremely high up (i.e. group head). All the offers have been extended and clearly there are a few who are weighting different options so as HR said, sit tight.
Nah, probably won't matter at this point - the only thing you could do is to tell them you have an exploding offer somewhere else - but don't bluff (see: Jeff Chiang). Also, that strategy could backfire as well, so keep that in mind.
i just got off hold today and was extended an offer so there's definitely a chance! Good luck!
Stapler-so glad to hear that......as for the rest I was wondering how does it work. Do the kids who are on hold and have exploding offers have an advantage??????
hang up the phone and redial HR
