Can anyone shed some light on working at GIC? Particularly their Professionals Programme? Hours, comp, career advancement, business school placement, exit opps, how it compares to banking, etc. Thanks much!
Can't provide any insight into that.
However, question is what will happen to GIC and Temasek once LKY dies (likely this year or next). PAP probably won't shake up either of them, but how many more elections do you think the PAP can win once the old Lee is dead?
GIC allocates quite extensively to alternative investment managers. I imagine that hours, comps, daily routines etc. should not be too different than working at other LPs.
Third hand knowledge, and a little bit of a hazy memory, when a recruiter reached out to me a few years ago about it because I was somewhat interested in moving to SG for shits and giggles-not bad hours, not super pay (not horrendous), very bureaucratic and political. I don't know if the NYC office would be different though. And by a few years, I mean 07/08 so things may have changed.
