Glassdoor vs. LinkedIn?

Hey monkeys, new user here. I've been reading off of this website for about a year, so it was about time I made an account.

Does any body have any input on Glassdoor? I'm getting requests left and right from Facebook friends, but I'd really rather not use it unless it adds some sort of significant value to me. I know that LinkedIn is useful, but how about Glassdoor?

Thanks in advance.

You're getting requests because your friends are checking salaries on glassdoor and they ask you to FB signin after a certain limit. Apart from that it's not really a networking tool like Linkedin, more of company reviews, salaries and jobs.

I don't think there is harm in at least having a basic presence on the site. But I don't think it's useful beyond supplying salary info and reviews of companies, which I feel it does fairly well.
