Going from IB (IBD / ER) to Journalism - feasible today?
I was watching the story of Wirecard that was investigated by Dan McCrum and I was very interested in his background.
I looked at his profile and noticed he started in Equity Research at Citi and then moved to journalism 5 years later in 2006 at the Investors' Chronicle and the FT a year later.
I wanted to ask if this is still possible today in terms of exits: has anyone exited from IB to a journalism role? I know that Investor Relations is the closest thing in IB but I'm curious about this.
(Not a shitpost, genuine curiosity!)
Dan's' experience illustrates that exits are not just to the buy-side, but anywhere you find interesting.
