Goldman announced the formation of this group a few weeks ago under the investment banking arm. Does anyone have any info on this group/breakdown of what they focus on?

interviewed on the other side of this group in GSAM private credit and I brought this group up with them a couple times. From what I gathered the capital solutions group, at least from perspective of the PC people is tying together the advisory and financing for PE/PC side of GBM with the need to deploy in GSAM privates. Officially it’s kind of like a sponsors group and sometimes they will have to originate outside of GS but the first stop is trying to find a solution that can be financed by GSAM which has less regulation than the GBM. Honestly sounded a little conflict of interesty to me but didn’t want to push back on that in the middle of an interview lmao. Again this is from only the perspective of the PC ppl who admitted they weren't super familiar w the group since its still in its very early stages and so GBM ppl may have a better POV
I recently attended the GS event specific to this group (selected) and just landed a PC gig at a euro fund. Do you think it could give a leg up for SA 2026 (London)?
