good analysts make shitty directors

Guys,

was just thinking about this when my associate piled a ton of work on me today. On the whole the star analysts are the geeky, submissive kids that are willing to get raped consistently with a smile on their face.

My uncle started his own business and sold it for half a billion. He started at a BB and was one of the shittiest analyst ever to work there (his words)

so what do you guys think ? do good analysts go on to great things or just end up with very wide assh****

thanks

The two positions require two different skillsets. Some great analysts also have the skillset to succeed as senior folks. Others won't make it much further than the associate level. I've seen VPs fail to get promoted because they were no good at managing junior people, even if they did have great knowledge and relationships.

There's a reason that associates can get hired with decent (but not top top grades) as long as the fit is there, but the same cannot often be said of analysts. In my own MBA program I would say there are some kids who would outgun me far and away by analyst metrics, but they've got no shot on the associate front. Dorky or foreign, or dorky foreigns.

sb for you..haha

GenesisMy ED is frankly a rock star. Former analyst.

Sorry to break it to you, but ED precludes your ability to be a rock star. I don't know how you can perform at all, much less like a rock star, without an erection.
