Got an MM-Boutique Offer at Baird ... BB dream over?

Hey Guys, I got a MM-Boutique Offer from Baird for a SA stint. I am so sad that I wasn't able to secure a BB offer. Would you take the MM-Boutique Offer or would it brand my CV as not worthy for ever?

Thank you

Congratulations on the role :). Baird is a very good offer, and they boast a very strong culture. Your dream is by no means over, though you will likely have to move expeditiously post the summer should a FT role open up.

Is this your only offer? If so I would likely accept, subject to how long the firm gave you to get back to them. It's far easier to lateral from MM to BB with a prior SA stint, so definitely not worth risking if they gave you a short timeline in my view

Sorry bruh, looks like it's over for you. In the Wall Street Caste System, you're pretty much an untouchable after taking such a garbage offer. I actually heard GS/JPM/MS have separate bathrooms and water-fountains for the few MM candidates they bring in every summer to "FT interview" to make fun of and belittle for their yearly entertainment.

Your line of thinking is right, you should definitely consider not taking the SA role, because with recruitment pretty much over, you're much better off declining the chance to get IB experience rather than have to endure the shame and pity that will be hurled down upon you by your BB/EB peers and disappointed parents after they learn you will be working for a MM firm.

Take it anyway. There's a LOT of reasons why someone might to go mid market over BB, so unless you're dead-set on megafund PE you should go in open to the possibility that you'll like it and stay.
