At a top MM (Blair/HL/etc) the application process is pretty comparable to BB application process- there really isn’t a big difference across requirements. You might get a few more non-targets at a MM, but they’re typically incredibly qualified in terms of GPA.

At a less well known MM (Lincoln, Cowen, etc), there definitely more wiggle room if people at the bank pull for you because the process is less structured. I would think you still want a 3.5+, but there’s probably a better chance if you’re below that if you have a great network

Thanks for your great response! When you say 3.5+ for lesser known MMs is that for targets or non-targets? Also would a 3.6 at a semi target be competitive for all MMs?

Stating the obvious here, but the applicant's situation also makes a difference. There are specific characteristics that might move the goalposts a bit (I.e. target vs. non-target, athletes, prior experiences, diversity, network within bank)
