Grad Analyst career path

so I have an offer to join GS as an analyst but I have a couple of questions re analysts at big firms as I'm joining at an older age than most (i m 27)

is it always a standard 3 years to get to associate or can it take less/more time than that?

basically I know some others that have an offer and all they've done is the summer internship last year.. I have done 1.5 years of work before starting my last BSc (I have another degree), I've taken 1 year out to do a year's internship at a top tech company, and I've done the 3 month summer internship at GS last year.. given that I have close to 3 years of work exp, will I be on the exact same career track as other with just a 3 month internship behind them?

just wondering..

hmm all that experience and they aren't considering you as an associate hire? What kind of degree do you have? If you can perform and be the cream of the crop you can prob make Associate in 1.5-2yrs given your experience.
