I keep hearing that Greenhill is really struggling lately. There has been some notable attrition at the senior level and they aren't really winning deals. Their 2015 year was particularly bad given other boutiques seemed to have done much better. My personal opinion is that the firm might be on the decline...succession issue etc.

 

They consolidated the LA office into their New York and San Francisco offices but they say that "we will continue to maintain a Capital Advisory presence in Los Angeles." I can't post the link to the article for this because I don't have enough points but it should come up if you search the PR Newswire article "Greenhill Announces Internal Promotions and Related Personnel Moves."
