Greenhill London SA

I have a 1st round interview coming up with Greenhill's London office. What type of questions should I expect? I know the interview is through Cornell Partnership and I have to take a math assessment. Also, anyone who has completed an SA position at this office, I would love to hear about their experience with the firm.

I'm not sure if these were for FT or SA but they should give you a decent idea:

From those examples it seems like they ask some technical questions so you might want to consider picking up the WSO Tech Interview Guide if you aren't yet comfortable with that type of material. Good luck.

Been through this for full time this year. 1st round is very standard, good to know one company really well and be able to do SWOT on it (and know the share price). Also make sure your responses to 'why IBD' and 'why Greenhill' are specific and sharp. Have a look on their website (which is excellent) for recent deals and maybe name the ones that interest you. Understand the structure of the firm, and cite early client exposure etc. as appealing. Technicals were pretty basic, maths was very easy.

SoAmbitiousSo how did it go?

I have been invited to Greenhill AC next Sunday. Any tips?

Thanks guys.

When did you find out? Are you based in the UK?

Yes, it is for London. I was called by the Cornell Partnership approx. 5 days before the AC. The AC went well, and I was eventually offered a position the day after.

Were you at the AC? Anyway, I wish you good luck in your application process.

And to all of you: THANK YOU for the impressive amount of information on this forum. Reading people's feedbacks has been an excellent source of motivation.

Cheers.

Had a lot of departures (across various analyst classes)... do your DD. Something is not q. right at GHL in London.

From the ghetto....

haha true on the SWOT. guess its really a lot about why GHL, why M&A, some competencies and a general easy conversation. then it gets technical after you make it through that round.
