Group placement: thoughts on IB FIG?

An incoming SA thinking about group placement. I had really great conversations with the FIG people at my bank (mid-tier FIG group), and I like the industry (have some past internships in the space). I'm also not totally set on PE recruiting as well, like should I hate banking then I would probably hate banking 2.0 as well (right?). So the question is, should I commit to FIG? People say it's niche and stuff, but after reading some recent posts I feel like passion and connections with the group seem to be more important than potential exit opportunities. But also I know that you don't actually know what's going on unless you are doing the job.
