Group specific investment banking applications
When creating an application do you recommend gearing it to a specific product/industry group? This particularly comes into play when writing a cover letter. Do you talk about your interest in a specific group or do you keep it broad to increase your chances? Let me know your thoughts.
Broad unless you have work experience that makes you a great fit for a specific group - this is obviously more likely if you're coming in as an associate without prior IB experience than if you're applying for an internship or analyst spot
