GS Classic vs. EVR/HL Rx
Would you choose a non-TMT/FIG classic group at GS or evercore/hl restructuring? Why? (SA or analyst level)

Goldman makes its employees pay for things from the firm canteen/shop. Enough said
all great shops. there's no objective answer to this because RX and M&A are completely different types of work. so the answer is whether you want to do M&A work or RX.
Evr/Hl rx would likely yield better hf exits; gs for PE
It depends. Is this for US or UK?
How does it depend?
While GS and HL RX in EMEA are as competitive as they are in the US in the respective fields (M&A and RX), Evercore's RX team in London is not comparable with their colleagues in the US. I am not saying it is not a good team, I am just saying that they are not as strong as they are in the US. Indeed, in London Roth/Laz/PJT are much stronger than Evercore in RX. I was told this stuff by a HH who works with distressed HF and PE shops in London.
So in the UK, where do you think is the best place to be doing Rx work? Considering lateraling to an EB from a BB so looking for some insight into the shops you mentioned :)
I’ll post what the HH said as I believe it’s much more useful for you than my humble opinion: top 4 are HL/PJT/Roth/ Laz (not necessarily ranked in this order). She said that people of these firms are the first she targets, as in London they are much stronger than any others. Then she mentioned that also PWP is growing now (I think they recently hired some strong seniors, but I don’t remember tbh).
