GS & CS SA interview rejection

I'm currently a Junior majoring in Business at a non-target. I networked a lot over the past year and at two firms in particular I didn't even get called a first round SA interview.

At GS I had 2 Partner and 3 MD referrals. At CS I had 2 MD referrals.

I have 3.6+ GPA and prior investment banking internship experience at a small boutique. I'm pretty sure it isn't my resume since I was able to get interviews at Elite Boutiques and other BBs.

I was wondering if you guys have any insight into this. Is there anything I could be doing wrong?

Sounds like IB recruiting is like dealing with chicks...

There are guys who are just slam dunks w/ the chicks (6'4" former athlete w/ personality) just like there are guys that are slam dunk w/ recruiters (HSW types)

But even those guys get turned down from time to time...

You have to dust yourself off, analyze what you think went wrong and try to improve... But dont beat yourself up because you didnt get your first pick. Keep at it and you'll get it.

When you go to the club.. and one chick turns you down... You reassess how you approached her... Refine and Improve... Maybe take a shot of Ciroc...

Then go spit at the next chick.
