GS London M&A teams ranking?

Hi guys,Was wondering if anyone could make a tier list of the the best to worst M&A coverage groups for GS in London. TMT i know is best, but isn't the easiest to get/convert into. Would appreciate reasons for rankings, although I only really care about which is the best for prestige & exit oops and maybe culture; I do want to sleep. List below:TMT
Consumer & Retail
Healthcare
Natural resources
UK M&A
Real estate
Industrials
FIG

The team with the most prestige and best exit opps is rarely the one which has a good culture and good hours. First question is what exit opps we are talking about. If you want to exit to traditional corporate PE, then real estate, FIG, and natural resources will not be the best as you will look at companies with completely different business models. Except from that I would say you will be in a great position regardless of what team you end up in. Know someone who worked in consumer at GS London and he told me hours were pretty rough. I would choose team based on which sector you are the most interested in.

Thanks, I’m not sure. Corporate PE may be an option, however, I’m not sure what I want to do in the future. I want to keep my options as open as possible.

Would FIG keeps those options open or would C&R be a better team? It seems like the culture in C&R is ok, works hard but nice people.

For future I may think of doing an MBA/startup that’s the only thing I know

The GS brand will get you interviews for all types of opportunities. However, the business model for financial firms is very different from industrials / business services / consumer / healthcare etc. As such, you will have a much easier time performing well in interviews and on the job if you are familiar with more similar business models. With that said, I think it's a better decision to choose C&R to keep more doors open unless you are very interested in FIG
