GS M&A Capital Markets

Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone knows a little about this group. The description includes:
• Analyzing and evaluate post-announcement market reaction of multiple constituencies
• Identifying deal characteristics, shareholder base demographics and other factors that influence the likely reaction to announcement
• Understanding how merger arbs evaluate and “set up” transactions
• Capturing key precedents and case studies

I know about capital markets in the traditional sense, but not really within an M&A group. Thanks.

Thanks for the info so far.

Any ideas of what to read up on before interviewing? Mostly traditional i-banking questions or should I look at other things as well?

This isn't really investment banking (capital markets / advisory). It's a direct support group designed to look like IBD to attract candidates (they have other names for similar groups - for e.g. M&A Fairness Group)
