relocation bonuses don't show up until you get your first paycheck
Is there a reason companies wait until the first paycheck? Luckily I had enough saved up to pay for moving my stuff and putting down a security deposit (total brag, I know), but I can imagine for a lot of people starting out it's difficult to spend that kind of cash and have to wait a few weeks before the bonus hits.
