I'm currently a 1st year student at HEC mtl and I have a 4.0 GPA. A connection with really strong ties in the US has recently offered me to of job at the Heritage Foundation for the summer of my second year. The connection is the founder of a mid-upper market merchant bank.
I did some DD but couldn't find much other than it's the biggest far-right political think tank and that there's a couple billionaire et very rich guys on the board of trustees.
Have anybody ever heard of somebody coming from there lending a high finance job? Not necessarily only IB but also PE, MB, credit or consulting.

Very well known conservative (more so pre 2016 GOP politics) thinktank that is pretty influential on GOP policy. If your goal if finance, I would take an actual finance internship over this unless you can keep networking with your contact.
