Has anyone left finance entirely?

Hi all,

I am currently wrapping up my first year in IB (23M) and know deeply that this field just is not for me. I got into the major as I was undecided and had a roommate that was passionate about it and sold me on the high finance track. That being said, I truly hate sitting at a desk, doing meaningless work, always being on call, and having no life outside of Saturday. I am not knocking anyone that enjoys this or takes pride in IB, it is just clear that I am not cut out for it.

While the obvious advice is finding a more chill finance job, I honestly just don't see myself enjoying office work whatsoever. I want to do something tangible, less sedentary, and impactful. My girlfriend is an ICU nurse which has sparked an interest for me, but wondering if any monkeys have left finance for something else. Thanks for any insight
