Hate sitting at a desk in Investment Banking

Back is in smitherens. Do you guys have standing desks? Would it be foul to ask for one? Shit sucks giant monkey dick. IB needs to adopt some new working practices IMO. Im sure some backoffice hardo will comment, "you just arent ready for IB". Eat a bag of dicks. Just want some back health when I am here for 12+ hours lmao.

I deal with this too (Back pain like a mofo) and finally invested in a damn nice, ergonomic office chair and it was 100% worth it.

Otherwise, it helps to stretch your lower back out every 15-30 minutes. Just stand up, try to touch your toes and hold it for 30 seconds. Helps massively if you do it faithfully throughout the day. Small walks to the lobby/restroom/kitchen help a good bit too.

RE: requesting a standing desk, odds are your office has a ton of them sitting in a storage closet from everyone ordering them when they were trendy then going back to a regular desk eventually. Ask your boss. I'd also mention to him your chair sucks and ask if there are any better ones in storage - he might just offer to let you expense a new one.
