Have time for Interviews after IB stint?

I am sure a lot of you guys are striving for the golden ticket into the Private Equity world (or better IB firms) after the IB stint but how do you manage to get out from 80-100 hour work week to interview around?

Of course you do not want your colleagues / managers to know that you are looking around.

Spending your vacation days seem to be the best bet but even with 1-2 weeks off, the interview process can take as long as 1-month (if not more).

It would be interesting to know how you guys managed to go about this.

this has been discussed ad nauseum on this forum so im going to attempt to steal your thread with a different but related line of questions:

how taboo is it to look for your next job? is it absolutely necessary to sneak around? how did you broach the subject with your manager(s)?
